Science Fun

This week Ethan's preschool had a science night. The kids got to do different types of experiments, from making slime to making homemade ice cream. Here are a few pictures from the event.

Making ice cream in a plastic bag.

Adding food coloring to milk with drops of Dawn soap. The combination makes the colors bubble and mix together to make a beautiful creation.

Making blue slime.

Adding water and alka-seltzer(sp?) to a closed container and watching the lid pop off.

"Its A Girl"

On Monday I had my 21 week ultrasound to make sure everything was looking "A ok" with our little one. Our family had been counting down the days because they also knew we were going to find out if we were going to be welcoming a little boy or a little girl. Our ultrasound tech said our little girl was being very modest because she began covering herself with her hand. Once we heard girl Marissa beamed with Joy, she had been praying for a little sister, Christian was going to be happy either way. Ethan on the other hand was pretty disappointed. I think he cried and hid under one of the chairs for a couple minutes. He complained for the first half hour and kept asking me why Heavenly Father sent him a girl and not a boy. I did my very best to explain to him and I think now he is ok with having a little sister. I think it has to do with being a big brother now.
I love my growing family.

"Holiday Fun"

This year we spent the holidays with family in California. The two weeks seem to fly by so quickly. The kids really enjoyed spending time with their cousins. They love each of them so much. Here are some pictures of the kids throughout our trip.

This picture was with good intent to get out as a Christmas card to family and friends. I guess my blog will have to do for 2008.

Enjoying Christian's 11th birthday with cousins in California

Learning to play guitar hero with Uncle Danny

The grandkids re-inacting the nativity scene. Ethan was so excited to be Joseph. Christian was a shephard and Marissa was an Angel. This is one of my favorite traditions during Christmas.

Grandpa Rene and Ethan, I can see such a cute resemblance in this picture.

Great Grandpa John showing them a thing or two at the pool table

Uncle Chad showing them how to shoot a bb-gun. It made me completely nervous

A little New Year Fun at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We had a Bolivian traditional Holiday Dinner (Picana). Here's a picture of Christian dancing with Grandma Angie, Ethan Dancing with Cousin Danny. The cousins toasting (sparkling apple cider) on New Year's. Spray painting there hair gold to be silly for the New Year.

We love our family and are so grateful we were able to spend time with them. They took such good care of us while we were there. We love you all and hope to see you soon. We hope all of you have a wonderful New Year!!!
